A Lega traditional tribal ceremonial conical braided Fibre cap. Democratic Republic Of Congo. The cap is decorated with a dark brown Palanquin scales and scaled tail, dark brown oval Shells, brown painted Shell buttons, and, at the front of the cap, two cream Cowrie Shells. At the base of the cap is a long braided fibre strap, decorated with brown painted Shell buttons. The inner diameter of the cap is 6.4 inches, and 6 inches in height. The Palanquin scaled tail is 15 inches in length, and the Fibre strap has a drop length of 9 inches.
