A Yoruba traditional tribal ‘King’s Crown’. Nigeria. The crown is decorated with lines of small blue and white striped Glass beads, sewn onto a cloth base. At the base of the crown is a band of eight diamond shaped yellow and dark red small Glass beads, and eight rectangles of green and yellow Glass beads. Above this band are four large triangles of green and brown Glass beads. The four curved sides of the crown are decorated with curved bands of yellow, green, and dark red Glass beads with borders of blue and white striped Glass beads. At the top of the crown is a bird in blue and white striped Glass beads. The base of the crown is 6.5 inches in diameter, and is 9.5 inches in height.
