Description
An Afghan Silvered Metal, (Nickel free), on black cotton cloth, ceremonial headband, decorated six linked Silvered Metal plaques, each inlaid with a blue, green, or turquoise domed oval cabochon, and two smaller facetted Glass circular beads. At the centre of the headband is a large Silvered Metal circular plaque, decorated with a blue Glass flat circular centre, within a Silvered Metal frame, two red Glass domed oval framed cabochons, and two amber Glass domed oval framed cabochons, and eight red, blue, or green, small facetted Glass circular beads. Above the circular plaque is a small triangular plaque, inlaid with red, green, and blue Glass facetted circular beads. At the top of the headband is a border of small red and white Glass beads. At the base of the headband is a fringe of Silvered metal chains, each with a bell pendant. Three black cotton bands, support the headband onto the head. The drop length of the central circular plaque , the small triangular plaque above, , and the fringe, is, in total, 5 inches. The drop length of the headband and fringe, is 2.7 inches. The headband is 10.5 inches in length, and the inner diameter of the headband is 7.5 inches.
