Description

A Gurunsi old traditional tribal headdress with a domed brown Wood Gourd with two long curved Buffalo Horns. Burkina Faso, West Africa. The Gourd and Horns are decorated with lines of cream coloured Cowrie Shells, sewn into Leather bands. The Horns are 5 cm in width, and 8 cm in length at the base, tapering down to 1 cm in width and 2cm in length at the top. The Horns are 30 cm in height. The inner diameter of Gourd is 18 cm, and the total height of the Gourd and Horns, is 39 cm.
